Vida e Mocambique – The Power of the Permanent Marker

Classic.

Through the power of 6 degrees (although its more like 2 in this case), a great little branding story landed in my inbox. The best thing about the team that heads up Vida is that they are all mates. And with mates, especially guys, comes the ceaseless attempt at (to be kind) outsmarting each other.

Here’s the evidence:

So Shaun (marketing dude at Vida), got this email in his inbox:

RE: Mozambique

“Bon Dia! Free coffee please? Obrigada B.”

Shaun, evidently spent the next few hours, scratching his head, puzzling over this seemingly brazen “meia de leite” addict’s attempt at scoring a freebie. Until it dawned on him. There could only be one person. The ever-scheming culprit and Vida MVP – Craig on a recent trip to Mocambique, had left this, on the airport wall:

For those that need glasses (or click on it to zoom in!)

” Vida e Caffe ROCKS The world. Email a picture of this to shaun 4 your free coffee”

Needless to say “B” had assumed it was Shaun who had wrote it, and that Shaun was no where near Mocambique, and of course “B” received her free coffee!

I wonder? What sweet revenge Shaun is plotting. Be afraid Craig, Be very afraid :).
